Slowing Down for Summer

I can’t believe it’s already June! This year has already just flown by, and we’re deep into summer now. The staff took May off to rest before diving back into work on June 5th, and I have lots to update you on! From a spring break trip to Georgia all the way to last weekend in Washington DC, so much has happened, so let’s get right into it.
Last update, it was just about midway through the spring semester, and can I just say, that the end of Spring 2023 was a BLAST. Spring break was so fun and relaxing for me because I decided to take a trip down to Savannah, GA, to visit my best friend Karla. It was so, so good to see her again after a long time apart. When I got back, I went to my cousin’s wedding, which I’ve been calling the beginning of wedding season because I have so many weddings this summer! Throughout the end of the semester, I spent a lot of time building a new garden space in my back yard, in hopes that it would be done and I’d get to enjoy it by the time May rolled around. (Spoiler, it’s growing up nicely, and we even have some BLOOMS). With students, I did a whole lot of rock climbing, lunches and dinners, individual Bible studies, and late night games and donut runs. I discipled four students this semester, three of whom I met with weekly, and I’ve decided that it’s my favorite part of my job to help young women discover the Lord and grow in communion with Him. At the end of April, my small group and I went to Women of Joy in Pigeon Forge, TN, for a weekend full of worship, teaching, and fellowship, and it was so much fun! Then suddenly, it was finals week, and we were saying good bye to the students, especially the seniors who were graduating and moving on to the next phase of their lives. After that, May was full of reading, gardening, lots of movies and TV shows, and overall just resting after such a busy and fulfilling semester. Unfortunately, I got strep throat and was bedridden for a week midway through, but right after I recovered, I hopped on a flight to Washington DC to visit a friend. DC was a whirlwind of a weekend, and I decided I don’t really like solo travel (since my friend had to work during the days, I was alone a lot of the time), so I’m taking applications for travel buddies!
At CSF, lots has happened! As I already mentioned, the end of the semester was crazy and exciting…
